DevOps and cloud mentor: become a DevOps or cloud engineer, or grow into a cloud architect

It is my everyday job: I have been designing and building cloud systems for more than 20 years. I help you understand what to study, in which order, and how to prove it to an employer.

Who it is for

  • Developers who want to move into DevOps or platform engineering
  • Sysadmins who want to move to the cloud
  • DevOps and cloud engineers aiming for senior or cloud architect roles
  • People who have studied a lot but have no hands-on experience to show yet

What we work on

1

A realistic roadmap

Linux, networking, containers, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, cloud, Kubernetes: in which order, how deep, and what can wait.

2

Cloud: AWS, Azure and GCP

Core services, networking and identity, costs, and how to pick the cloud to focus on by looking at the job market.

3

Infrastructure as Code

Terraform, Bicep and Pulumi: module structure, state, environments, reviewing infrastructure code.

4

Kubernetes and GitOps

From your first cluster to deployments with ArgoCD or Flux, focusing on what production really needs.

5

CI/CD and observability

Pipelines that hold up, safe releases, useful logs, metrics and alerts.

6

An end-to-end portfolio project

An application with infrastructure as code, pipelines and monitoring: concrete proof to show in interviews.

How it works

1-on-1 online sessions of 60 minutes, recording optional. We start from where you really are, set a goal, and between sessions you work on hands-on tasks, not just theory. If your goal is moving from developer to DevOps, the CareerUp+ Sprint program is built exactly for that.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on your background and the market you target. In the first session we look at real job ads in your field and area and decide based on those, not on trends.

You do not need to be a developer, but you do need scripting: Bash and at least one language such as Python or Go. If you are starting from zero there, we put it in the roadmap.

They help, especially to pass the first screening, but they are not enough on their own: you need hands-on projects. If you want to prepare one, see the cloud certification page.

It depends a lot on your starting point and the hours you can put in. I do not promise miracle timelines: in the free call I give you an honest estimate for your case.

Let's talk: the first call is free

30 minutes on a video call, no sales script. Tell me about your situation and I will tell you openly whether and how I can help.
